Recognizing that healthy executives create a better bottom line for area
companies, Wichita Clinic has introduced Executive Health Services at Wichita
Clinic Northeast (9211 E 21st St). The new program offers annual screening tests
and a thorough exam in a half-day format. The Executive Health appointment
includes a personal consultation with one of three Wichita Clinic physicians and
specific recommendations based on same-day evaluation of test results.
| Q. |
Why did Wichita Clinic develop an Executive Health Services Program? |
| A. |
Wichita Clinic’s primary care physicians have become increasingly concerned
with the number of preventable diseases and health problems they are treating
as a result of fast-paced, stressful lifestyles that make it all too easy to put off
good health care decisions. These physicians developed a streamlined and
efficient program that makes it easier for executives to take advantage of
annual comprehensive health exams tailored to their specific health concerns.
Modeled after similar programs offered in other regions of the country, this is
one of the area’s first comprehensive programs providing these services in a
half-day format. |

|
| Q. |
Who provides these services? |
| A. |
Three board certified family medicine physicians who have an interest in
wellness and preventive medicine:
John L. Kready, MD – Linda Goodson, DO – Kevin Hoppock, MD. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Describe a typical Executive Health assessment. |
| A. |
Most assessments start at 8 am and end by noon. The day starts with routine
lab work and tests, including a hearing evaluation, spirometry (lung function
test), body fat analysis, EKG, chest x-ray, and stress treadmill. A thorough
exam by a physician follows this testing. Most lab results are available for
discussion following the exam and the results are part of a comprehensive
consultation with the physician that includes recommendations about
necessary lifestyle changes. A written report with test results is provided to the
patient within 5 to 7 business days. |

|
| Q. |
How does this program differ from physical exams that are already
performed at Wichita Clinic?
|
| A. |
Customized: Lab tests are ordered based on a health history form completed
prior to the appointment. Prior to the exam date, patients may request
additional tests if they have particular areas of concern. Some of these tests
may include a colonoscopy, CT scoring (checks calcium buildup in coronary
arteries), and CT coronary angiogram (noninvasive screening for coronary
artery disease).
Concentrated: During a typical annual physical exam, lab work is scheduled
prior to or following a physical exam. The patient must make two healthcare
visits: one for an exam and one for lab work. Executive Health Services
combines lab work, a comprehensive physical exam and a consultation about
most lab results and testing all in the same morning.
Comprehensive: The physician will devote a full hour to a thorough physical
exam and consultation with each patient.
Convenient: Patients have access to a private waiting area furnished with
internet connection and phone service in case they need to conduct business
during their visit. |

|
| Q. |
How does it differ from the Executive Physicals that are currently offered
to area companies? |
| A. |
Some area companies already take advantage of an Executive Physical
program that Wichita Clinic has had in place for some time. These
companies have pre-authorized a set of tests that are given to their
employees. Executive Health Services offers a more individualized physical
exam and lab work. Additional tests are available based on health history
and specific patient concerns. Every effort is made to ensure that lab work,
tests, exams, and consultations take place in a half-day format. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Where will Executive Health assessments take place? |
| A. |
Executive Health assessments take place at Wichita Clinic’s Northeast branch
located at 9211 E 21st St. Patients use the entrance to Advanced Aesthetics
by Wichita Clinic. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Who will take advantage of this program? |
| A. |
Busy executives, small business owners, ranchers, and anyone in the region
who is seeking comprehensive and customized healthcare that offers the most
efficient use of their time. Spouses may also take advantage of these services
and may wish to schedule concurrent appointments. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Does health insurance cover this? |
| A. |
Some health plans may cover portions of the lab work. It’s important to check
with your health insurance company. |
